IPT has always paid great
attention to education and training. Specific programmes have been
created to provide its clients, who include Public Administrations, a
specific service for the preparation of Technical Analysts able to carry
out evermore complex tasks in the planning, management, development and
control of territorial resources.
For this purpose, IPT offers a specific Training Course for the training of “Territorial Analysts”, specialized technicians able to use, operate and develop Territorial Informational Systems (S.I.T.) for Administrations, Companies and public or private Authorities..
The Territorial Analysts will be competent to use the most
advanced technology to produce and update the basic cartography, conduct a
census on Territorial Resources and supply the appropriate tools to Public
and Private Structures in charge of
shaping and planning the territory. There are supplementary course
units, the basic and advanced study of GIS and a unit devoted to the
treatment of images obtained by satellite remote sensing
technology.
The IPT courses tend to satisfy the growing demand from large sectors of the public administration, professions, and graduates (agronomists, environmentalists, architects, forest rangers, geologists, engineers, and life-scientists) with great ability in computerized territorial management and environmental monitoring Courses in GIS and remote sensing technology.
The Geographical Information System is “ an
organized ensemble of hardware, software and personnel for the
acquisition, management, analysis and display of alphanumeric and graphical
information relating to a given territory”. The GIS is an important and
necessary tool for the training of operators in the area of environmental
science and education, including the carrying out of relevant educational
activities, for updating ,
assisting the interchange of data of different types and sources, and the
processes of communication and dialogue. The GIS makes it possible to specify procedures for the
design of coordinated
and univocal data
bases and archives, the transmission of data and cartography, and
facilitates the collection and reading of data. Objectives
